Ingredients
5–6 inch bread rolls (kaiser, sourdough, or your favorite)
1 pound spaghetti noodles
1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage (or sautéed mushrooms for vegetarian)
1 jar (24 oz) marinara or spaghetti sauce
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Prep the bread bowls: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice tops off rolls and hollow out centers. Brush inside and outside with garlic butter.
Cook spaghetti: Boil salted water, cook spaghetti until al dente, drain, and set aside.
Make meat sauce: Brown ground beef or sausage in a skillet, season with salt and pepper, drain fat, add marinara, and simmer 5–10 minutes.
Assemble bowls: Spoon sauce into bread bowls, add spaghetti, top with more sauce, then cheese.
Bake: Place on a baking sheet and bake 7–10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Garnish & serve: Sprinkle parsley or fresh herbs, serve warm.
Notes
Use day-old rolls for sturdier bread bowls.
Swap meat with vegetables or plant-based protein for a vegetarian version.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days; reheat in the oven at 350°F for 10–12 minutes.
Mini rolls can be used for appetizers or party bites.
